The White House is owned by the American people and stewarded by the National Park Service. It is more than the President's residence; it is a site for protests and national discourse about what it means to be American. As one of the most iconic sites in the country, the White House and President's Park seeks to tell the stories of all people who have lived, worked, and visited.
NP Tracker keeps a record of every National Park Service unit you visit — all 430-plus of them. Log visits with dates and photos, collect passport stamps, plan trips, and watch your map fill in. It's free.

Before there was President's Park, Lafayette Park and the Ellipse were managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. They controled the land between the end of the Civil War and the 1930s. During this time all of the park's current military monuments were erected. Learn more about the landscape of our park by exploring the sites below.
